This 2-truck, 43 ton Shay was built in 1920 by Lima Locomotive Works. Information at www.steamlocomotive.info indicates that the engine had a building collapse on it in Vermont before it was moved to its current location at Steamtown, Scranton, Pennsylvania. It has many parts missing and continues to deteriorate to the point where it looks like even a cosmetic restoration would be very difficult. The locomotive has 29.5" drivers and 10" x 12" cylinders. |
