The Shelby & Southern Railroad operates on the grounds of the Heart of Dixie Railroad Museum, Calera, Alabama. This propane-fired locomotive was built by Crown Metal Products near Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania - probably about 1985. This appears to be one of their 15" or 24" gauge models built in the 1970s and 1980s. I did not have a chance to measure the track or the drivers. Notice that the engineer sits in the tender. |
