Built in 1874 by Baldwin (class 8-28-D,) the Tahoe has 48.25" drivers and 17" x 24" cylinders. It weighs 37.5 tons and has a wheel base of 17.75 inches. Originally built to burn wood, it was later modified to burn coal. It has been restored to its wood-burning configuration with a ballon stack and is on display at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania in Strasburg, Pennsylvania. |
