Leetonia Railway 1 (Shay Class C)

Leetonia Railway 1 is a 65 ton Class C (three-truck) geared Shay locomotive built by Lima in 1906. Although it is now marked for the Leetonia Railway, a Pennsylvania logging firm, it never belonged to that company. It was owned by Enterprise Lumber Co. (LA), Cherry River Boom and Lumber Company (WV), F. C. Cook & Co. (WV), Beech Mountain RR (WV), Cook-Natwick (WV), and Ely-Thomas Lumber Co. (WV). It has 36" drivers and three 12" x 15" cylinders. It is built for 56-1/2" gauge rail. The locomotive is on display at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania, Strasburg, Pennsylvania.
