Graham County Railroad 1925 (Shay Class C)


GCRR 1925 is a coal burning 70 ton Class C (three-truck) Shay built by Lima in 1925. It has 36" driving wheels and three 12" x 15" cylinders. These pictures were taken in Fall 2003 when the engine was used to pull an excursion on the Smoky Mountain Railroad. Its normal home is the North Carolina Transportation Museum, Spencer, North Carolina.
