The Overfair Railway was a five mile long, 19" gauge railroad built through the 1915 Panama-Pacific International Exposition in San Francisco. Louis McDermott built five one-third scale locomotives for the railroad. Four were completed and used to pull 60 scale passenger cars and five scale freight cars also built for the exposition. A fifth engine, OR 1915, was never completed. The locomotive weighs 18,800 lbs and has 26" drivers and 8" x 9" cylinders. It is now on display at the California State Railroad Museum, Sacramento, California. | |
