Lahaina, Kaanapali & Pacific Railroad 3 (2-4-0)

Originally built by H. K. Porter as an 0-4-0T, this locomotive was originally Carbon Limestone Company 35 inHillsville, Pennsylvania. It was rebuilt as a 2-4-2 before it was shipped to Hawaii. There was difficulty keeping the trailing truck on the track and it was eventually removed. The tender was rebuilt from one used on one of the local sugar cane railroads. The narrow-gauge oil-burner has 36" drivers and 12" x 18" cylinders. This 21 ton locomotive is in operation on the Lahaina, Kaanapali & Pacific Railroad at Lahaina, Maui, Hawaii.
